New Glasses

Last week, Blake and I went to the eye doctor to update our prescriptions. I just got contacts, but Blake got some spiffy new Banana Republic glasses! I forced him into the backyard for some pics :)

Craigslist

We have posted ads on Craigslist several times in the past, and have had about 50/50 success. This time, though, we have made $310! We sold almost everything we had in the ad. Not only is the money nice, but we have SO much more room in our garage! Much easier than wasting a whole Saturday on a yard sale! :)

Packing, Day 2

We are almost completely finished packing up the craft closet. We have a HUGE ad posted on Craigslist, and what doesn't get sold will be donated to a Christian school down the road. Here are the pictures I promised... I took them before we finished up today. But first, a before photo:

And now, what a mess! Goodbye organization :(

The mess even spilled over into the office
The grey box in the photo above is what I am keeping and taking with us when we travel. Blake made this label for me: (I forgot to flip it, sorry!)

We're hoping that this room was the worst, and thats why we started with it. Time will tell!

Shopping and Target and packing, oh my!

Today consisted of:
-Getting home from work at 3am and falling into bed (Not as bad as it sounds... $10/hr to 'watch' sleeping children.)
-Waking up and having blueberry muffins for breakfast (Thanks to my wonderful hubby)
-A Thirty-one gifts party at Stacey's house (I bought the cutest fabric covered 'H' for our bookshelf in the living room!)
-Going to Lexington to take advantage of a sale at Hancock Fabrics and get some stuff to use for photo shoots (I have a session with a 2 month old on Wednesday, can't wait!)
-A trip to my favorite store, TARGET! (Stocked up on plastic totes for packing/storing and got Maggie's Halloween outfit)
-Yummy date night at Olive Garden (Had the Stuffed Chicken Marsala again - fab as usual!)
-Came home and started packing up my craft closet in the office (Way too much paper, ribbon, photo albums, buttons, stickers, note cards, pens, glue, markers, scissors, etc, etc, etc.)

Ok, so I have to elaborate a little more on that last one. I had so much... STUFF. Thats the only word for it. We've packed up what I want to keep and are going to either trash or donate the rest. It is complete chaos in that room right now! I'll try to post some before & after pictures tomorrow. We've only been packing a few hours and I'm already tired of it. Thats probably a bad sign, huh?

Here we go!

After over a year of discussing, planning, un-planning, stressing & praying Blake has finally submitted his application to be a traveling x-ray tech! We are so excited to get started and can't wait to find out where our first assignment will be! Hopefully we will find out in the next few weeks and then the craziness begins. I'm already a little stressed about packing! Any volunteers? :) Its so strange to us how quickly things are moving now, since we have been waiting SO long for it to finally be here. We're hoping this blog will be a way for family and friends to keep track of us (since we will be moving every 8-13 weeks!) and to also make sure the memories are well documented for ourselves. We'd appreciate your prayers because as exciting as it is, its also very scary to have so many unknowns.

And because the photographer in me can't make a blog post without a photo, here are a few of Maggie in her typical spot on the couch. She loves to bury herself in her blanket, but when she gets hot she pokes out her paws and face. Its adorable!
